In the shadow of the Alps, wingsuit pioneer Robert Pečnik reflects on a lifetime spent pursuing human flight while navigating the fragile space between family, legacy, and the obsession that has defined him.
Synopsis
After flying through Italy’s Sarca Valley, wingsuit pioneer and designer Robert Pečnik returns to the grounded rituals of home. Moving between family life, alpine pursuits, and memories of a lifetime spent chasing human flight, the film follows a father, designer, and master flyer confronting what it means to age inside a discipline built on precision, instinct, and consequence.
For nearly three decades, Robert has pursued not only the sensation of flight, but the craft behind it: experimenting with suit designs, refining judgment through repetition, and seeking the rare alignment of preparation, landscape, and line. Yet Robert’s relationship with flight remains unresolved. As the film closes, a new possibility begins to take shape—one that suggests his search is far from over.
More than a film about risk, On Flying is a quiet portrait of craft, family, and the strange humility of coming home after touching flight.

" If you isolate that moment, you don't need any better proof that you have something special in your hands and it's a matter of only how to bring that to the world. "
Robert Pečnik
Founder, Phoenix-Fly Wingsuits
